Kirsi Ihalainen



Sound artist Kirsi Ihalainen, a Master of Arts, is the creator of the KELOSOUND® product. She wanted to bring nature closer to us. There are a lot of people in the world who have no opportunity to experience nature, therefore Kirsi decided to bring nature to them! She has recorded and made the unique soundscapes herself on her sound adventures across Finland.


Kirsi creates big sound installations, music and sound to games and films. She designs interactive sound applications for diferent media formats. Kirsi has previous international exhibition experience with her sound installation “Finnish Forest Frequencies”, which has been exhibited in USA, Iceland, Japan, Helsinki, Kuusamo, and Helsinki Airport. The installation was selected to the biggest art competition in the world, The ArtPrize in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA. She was also one of the 25 artist to be rewarded with a scholarship from 1554 artist. Next the sound installation will continue to a co-exhibition with nature photographer Olli Lamminsalo in “Soft Movements and Untamed Sounds” exhibition to Arktikum at Rovaniemi for summer 2018. The exhibition is at the moment on its tour around Finland.
